Continue to model the RAM array. Assume that surface mount is used.
T}:3:100:T{
I have done enough modeling to be able to go into PC layout and try
a few different ways of laying out the RAM array.
T}
.SP 1
T{
Go to PC layout to start getting an idea of what is required to layout
the RAM board and to try some bussing options.
T}:3:100:T{
I went into PC layout 3/27. I feel that we will learn a lot from this test
board. We can solve some of the problems of layout and bussing before we
need the real PC board.
T}
.SP 1
T{
Continue to investigate the availability of surface mount parts. Try to get
samples, get better commitments from RAM vendors, and find out what
qualification testing needs to be done.
T}:4:100:T{
I have all the parts needed for the test board coming. They should arrive
well before they are needed. (Some have arrived.) I will use 64K bit RAM's
for the test board. I am starting to get some data on the 256K bit RAM's
(availability, cost, reliability).

T{
Help get the RAM controller started and defined (if needed).
T}:3:100:T{
I have met twice with John Spencer and members of his group to review our
memory controller needs. I have updated and expanded the Must/Wants list.
The biggest issue is the schedule.

Work on definition and slides for BLUE THUNDER and BOBFOX.
T}:3:100:T{
These were both completed early in the month.

Continue to keep updated on graphics progress.
T}:2:100:T{
The latest strategy has graphics in a separate box. More than one graphics
system can plug into Firefox.
T}
.SP 1
T{
Start investigating how to test the RAM board before the controller is
available.
T}:2:100:T{
I have started a design that will use a 9826/36 with a GPIO card to do block
transfers to the RAM board. It will plug into the MC socket.
T}
.SP 1
T{
Update the RAM and graphics ERS's.
T}:2:100:T{
I updated both sections.
