Weekly Update

There were some computer problems with making my film and so I did not get
it checked until May 3. I hope to send the package out Monday. MDE plans
to build a couple of boards the last week of this month. This should be done
on there equipment. The reflow machine is in.

The CCU/TCU definition has regressed a little. Cheetah is pushing to
require support of 128K instead of just 64K bytes. They are not willing
to accept no look aside registers. The chip designers are trying to
freeze the definition. We are looking are using 16K by 1 RAM chips to
get 128K of cache. This would require only two CCU's but the address bus
would be connected to 41 RAM chips.

I visited Cypress this week. It was about what I expected. They expect to
have 64K bit SRAM's by early next year. They have no plans of ever making
the 2K by 8 part faster than 35 nS.

I should have my pass port and visas by Wednesday. I have been talking with
other people going on the Japan trip and it looks like there will be
opportunities to discuss out needs.
