I spent this week evaluating ways of optimizing the CCU timing in
an attempt to make the 2 state store work. It looks like we will
not be able to make the timing work without considerable risk.
It like it will be easier to go to a 3 state store and increase
the clock 26 MHz to make up for the performance hit. We plan on
having the problem and risk documented by early next week.

Hitachi was here this week. They left two 25 ns 167K x 4 samples
with me. There are a couple of things that need to be verified
on there spec (under-shoot and capacitance). They are supposed
to get back to us by the end of the month on these issues. I
will try to push for the information sooner.

I spoke to a salesman from Lattice and they are working on all the
parts that we need (including 25ns 2K x 8). He is sending me data
sheets.

I met with some people from Inmos today but they did not have anything
very promising.
