I am on the fifth pass of checking the 8 Mbyte RAM board. It is down to three
shorts. These are hard to find (one is VDD and ground). I have been able to
get the DRC to run.

I sent a memo top Sang Park and Jim Couts of the MTC on what our soft error
rate requirements are on Firefox. We should be able to tolerate a very high
soft error rate but I would worry about the reliability of a part that had
a very high soft error rate.

Jim built a second math board and we turned it on with no problems. Eight
more math boards were built by production. We have not turned them on yet.

Motorola was here to talk about fast SRAM's. The 16k x 4 part looks very
good. We let them know that we wanted 2k x 8 parts. We told them that
we would rather see wider and faster parts than deeper parts. I am not
sure if we will have any impact on there development plans.

The Stantel rep called and said that he was going to have some 2k x 8
25 ns samples within the next few weeks. I have asked Hal good to see if
he can start getting more information on Stantel.
