I wrote up my parts of the trip report on the ultra-fox visit to Cupertino.
I also wrote a report on what I found out about the RAM vendors that I
visited with.

We met with Motorola to discuss what we need for SRAM's in the next few years
and to find out what there plans are. There is a need for us to get together
with the other IHO groups who need SRAM's so that we can establish what are
SRAM needs are and prioritize them. I asked Tak Watanabe to set up a video
conference so to do this.

I have been working with Greg Sanders to figure out what SRAM's and DRAM's
to order. He plans to order 1000 Mitsubishi DRAM's so that we can get some
experience with them and test them in strife. He is going to order enough
SRAM's from Hitachi to get us through our January build plans. He is worried
about getting more SRAM's than we need for the next few months.

I re-wrote the TAB spec to get it more like Peter wants it. I think that I
changed it to what he wanted.

They have figured out how to program the EEPROM with the 3065. They do have
some problems with doing very accurate math and so I am working with them
to come up with a way of just putting the raw data into the EEPROM and
having the program that sets the rest of the EEPROM do the math.

I looked at the CA timing more closely. It worries me that the delay line
time is getting very long and I am worried about side effects. I think that
it would be a lower risk to change the MID_BUS buffers to FAST parts and them
keep the delay line at 28 ns. I plan to have a review of the MID_BUS timing
for the CA this week.

I spent some time working with Jim on the memory boards. We checked the film
on the 8 Mbyte board and I helped him get ready to run the DRC on the 2
Mbyte board.
