I was told by Hitachi that we could get 100 engineering samples of real 25ns
2K x 8 SRAM's the first week in November. We ordered these. I was also told
that we could get 350 full spec parts by the end of November.

Both Cypress and Toshiba are still saying that they will provide us full spec
2k x 8 SRAM's in November. I still have not seen any parts. VLSI (a start up)
has provided MTC with samples of a 2K x 8 part that they say is 25ns. Jim
Couts will let me know how these parts look. He plans on visiting them next
week if they look good. I will be there at about the same time anyway and so
I plan to go with him.

I was told by Rich McClosky that they fixed the buffer conflict problem on
the CA chip. The changes have made me increase the delay line for Firefox.
I decided to optimize assuming that our clock would be 25 MHz. Ann should
still be able to make some changes to allow the CA to run with a 30 MHz
(10 MHz MID_BUS) clock.

I have talked to Motorola about surface mount packages for 16k x 4 SRAM's.
They want to us a new SOJ package. Cypress wants to use a standard SOIC
package. The SOJ is smaller than the SOIC. I want to try to see if Cypress
could also use the SOJ package.

The plotter in Loveland is down and so I told Bev to shoot some film for the
math board here. We will still try to wait for the Loveland film, but if it
is not ready in time we will have film to use.

We met with Daryl Knoblock to talk about the needs of TWO for an ultra-fox.
From what he said it looks like Fusion is moving out in schedule and up in
performance to the point that it is getting closer to ultra-fox. When we go
to Cupertino next week we are going to meet with one of the Fusion designers.
We need to get a better handle on what Fusion is and how we tie together.

I set up the trip to Cupertino for Tom, Rand, Darius, and me. I still have a
couple more meetings to set up.

I received several documents on the IOACD. There are still issues coming up
that could effect Firefox. From what Mark said we well get a chance to give
our inputs on these.
