INSTALLING AND RUNNING THE MVS SYSPLEX OPERATIONS TUTORIAL

This tutorial introduces MVS Release 5.1 operators to sysplex operations at
the MCS console. Operators and system programmers will learn new
procedures for sysplex operations by practicing commands at a simulated
     MCS console.

     Hardware and Software Requirements
     ----------------------------------

The tutorial requires the following hardware and software:

     REQUIRED HARDWARE

     o A 386 or 486 workstation (e.g., PS/2 Model 80)
o A Video Graphics Adapter (VGA) or equivalent and VGA monitor
     o A mouse
o 16 MB free space on your hard disk (30 MB for sound)

     REQUIRED SOFTWARE

The tutorial runs under Microsoft Windows 3.1. You can run it directly under
Windows by booting with DOS and then starting Windows. However, if you have
OS/2 2.1 and the WIN-OS2 software installed, you can run the tutorial under
     OS/2, in a Windows session.

The tutorial was designed to run in VGA mode (640x480 16-color resolution).
It is recommended that you bring up your system in that mode for best
     results.

     Installing the Tutorial

To install this tutorial, do the following:

     1. Create a new directory on a drive that has 16 MB of free space. Name the

new directory SYSTUTR. For example, to create SYSTUTR on drive D, enter:

             md d:\systutr

     2. There are two versions of the sysplex tutorial. One version
contains sound the other does not. If you have 30 MB of memory and
a sound card, you should copy the files from f:\systutrs. Otherwise,
         copy the files from f:\systutr.

For example, from the DOS prompt, enter the following:

             [F:\SYSTUTR] copy *.* d:\systutr
             [F:\SYSTUTRS] copy *.* d:\systutr
