Redbook Abstract
Mail Integration for Lotus Domino 4.5 on the IBM Integrated PC Server for AS/400 V3R2 or V3R7, SG24-4977-01
  Abstract
This redbook describes how to install, configure, and use the Simple Mail Transport Protocol/Message Transfer Agent 1.06 (SMTP/MIME MTA) in combination with a Lotus Domino Server 4.5a or 4.51 installed on the Integrated PC Server (IPCS) of an AS/400 system having OS/400 Version 3 Release 2 (V3R2) or Version 3 Release 7 (V3R7) installed. At the time of writing this redbook, there was no printed manual available covering all the information necessary to install and configure Lotus Notes Mail integration on an Integrated PC Server. The goal of this redbook is to fill that gap. This redbook was written for administrators of Lotus Notes servers installed on an Integrated PC Server for an AS/400 system who need to install and manage the integration of Lotus Notes mail with AS/400 based mail, such as OfficeVision for OS/400. Some knowledge of OS/400, Lotus Notes, OfficeVision for OS/400 as well as TCP/IP communication is assumed. The reader should be able to install and manage a Lotus Notes server on an Integrated PC Server of an AS/400 system. Note that this is a revision of the original SG24-4977-00 redbook. The major changes in this revision include: - A simplified approach to the AS/400 TCP/IP configuration requirements. This TCP/IP configuration is also used to support the MTA on single port Integrated PC Servers.

- A new and simpler install method that uses the SMTP/MIME MTA software included with Domino 4.5 on CD-ROM. The new method can be used to install this software directly from the CD-ROM drive of an AS/400 system unit, if it is a RISC system (V3R7 or later) Customers with a non-RISC system (V3R2) should copy the contents of the CD-ROM from a PC to the OS/400 Integrated File System (IFS) and then use the same installation process as on a RISC system. There are also instructions on how to obtain the 1.06 version of the SMTP/MIME MTA software from the Lotus Web site. This is no longer necessary given the SMTP/MIME CD-ROM included in the Domino 4.51 package or later includes the OS/2 1.06 version of the SMTP/MIME MTA on a separate CD-ROM. However, customers using the Domino 4.5a (or earlier) package need to obtain the MTA software from the lotus home page http://www.lotus.com/notesmta/2222.htm
