IBM Network Station Printing Guide, SG24-5212-00
  Abstract
This redbook describes the printing capabilities of the IBM Network Station. It applies to Release 3 of the IBM Network Station software, and to previous releases. It is designed to help the reader understand how printing works on the IBM Network Station by discussing some of the basic concepts involved, illustrating the major components of the printing subsystem, providing examples of how local applications print to local printers and/or send printer output to remote print servers, as well as how remote applications can send print jobs to local printers. These examples are provided for many platforms, such as OS/390, OS/400, AIX, Windows NT and WinCenter, and they include instructions on how to prepare these systems to receive print jobs from an IBM Network Station. Details are also provided on the configuration requirements of the IBM Network Station, how to use the IBM Network Station Manager program to manipulate these configuration parameters, and a few tools, tips and techniques helpful in performing problem determination.
