Lotus NotesPump is an enterprise-scale data distribution server that allows corporations to build applications that read and write data between an increasing number of relational, legacy, and Internet-based data sources.
With the NotesPump server technology, data can be moved or transformed on a scheduled or one-time basis or based on a particular business condition, and, new with this product release, data can be made available to end-user clients on demand, when required, directly from supported back-end legacy and relational data systems.
Frequent and reliable access to corporate data has many benefits, such as accurate, timely data for the users who require it, and the ability to respond to and manage business operations with up-to-date corporate business system information.
In this redbook we explain how to use NotesPump to integrate Domino applications with a enterprise data store. We report on a practical implementation of an extended sample enterprise application connecting a Domino environment to a corporate database managed by DB2. We discuss how to use NotesPump to integrate data and cover the design issues we considered during our implementation. We describe in detail how we implemented the solution using the NotesPump Replication, Realtime Notes, Scripted, and DPROPR activities. We also explain how to use NotesPump to support Web users and cover such programming techniques as dynamic and drill-down queries.
This book is written for:
- Managers and system architects who want to understand why they should move data from one environment to another
- System administrators who have to manage a NotesPump shop
- Programmers who want to use NotesPump to create integrated applications
